1. Who we are and what we are not

classicfreemarket.com is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nexon or any MapleStory publisher. MapleStory and related names, images and item artwork are trademarks or copyrights of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

The Site is a listing and messaging venue only. We never hold, transfer or deliver items or mesos, are not a party to any trade, and do not act as an escrow, broker, agent or payment processor.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Site with a parent or guardian's permission. You must also be allowed to play MapleStory Classic under its own terms.

3. Your account

• Provide accurate sign-up information, including a real email address and your own in-game name (IGN).
• Keep your password secure; you are responsible for all activity on your account.
• One person per account. Do not impersonate other players, create accounts to manipulate reviews or prices, or sell or transfer your account.
• Usernames must not be offensive, misleading, or imitate staff or other players.

4. Listings, buy offers and trades

When you list an item or post a buy offer you confirm that you genuinely intend to trade on the stated terms, and for listings that you actually own the item described. Listed stats, modifications, quantity, world and price must be accurate.

All trades are completed inside the game, directly between players and at their own risk. Prices are in mesos only. Before finishing a trade, verify the item and amount in the game trade window.

Buyers confirm completed trades and the actual price paid. Confirmed prices may be shown publicly in aggregated price history. Sample (demo) listings are labelled and cannot be traded.

5. Real-money trading is prohibited

You may not use the Site to buy, sell, or advertise items, mesos, accounts or services for real money, cryptocurrency, gift cards or any other off-game value, or link to sites that do. This also commonly violates the game's own terms and can lead to game bans. We remove such content and may suspend accounts involved.

6. Prohibited conduct

• Scamming, fraud, bait-and-switch listings, or misrepresenting items or stats.
• Fake, inflated or retaliatory reviews, or trades staged to manipulate prices or reputation.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, spam, or sharing another person's personal information.
• Advertising hacks, bots, exploits, duplication glitches or account-sharing services.
• Scraping, overloading, reverse-engineering, or interfering with the Site or its security; accessing accounts or data that are not yours.
• Using the Site in violation of any law or of the game publisher's terms of service.

7. Messages and in-game names

Messages are visible only to the participants of a conversation, but you should still treat them as non-confidential and never share passwords or account access. Your IGN is hidden until a seller accepts an offer or a sale is recorded between you, after which it is shown to that trade partner.

8. Reviews and reputation

Reviews may only be left after a confirmed trade, one per party per trade. Reviews must be honest and about the trade. We may remove reviews that break these Terms but do not otherwise edit or verify them.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (listings, notes, offers, messages and reviews). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process that content as needed to operate, improve and promote the Site. You are solely responsible for your content.

10. Moderation and termination

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts at our discretion, with or without notice, if we believe these Terms are broken or the Site or its users are at risk. You may stop using the Site or ask us to delete your account at any time.

11. Disputes between users

Because we are not part of any trade, disputes are between the players involved. We may help by reviewing reports, but we cannot restore lost items or mesos. Report scams to us and to the game publisher. You release classicfreemarket.com from claims arising out of disputes with other users, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Disclaimers

The Site, including item data, artwork, price history and statistics, is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Price information is informational only and is not financial advice. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, classicfreemarket.com and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of in-game items, mesos, accounts, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or any trade. Our total liability for any claim is limited to USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless classicfreemarket.com and its operators from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your trades, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice on the Site or by email. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory consumer protections. Disputes will be handled in the courts located in New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
